Welcome
Welcome to my blog!
Some of you may recall that I hosted a podcast a few years ago with a similar title — The Christians In Rome Podcast — and I guess you could say this blog is a little off-shoot of that, though I took it to a more personal life (singular "A Christian" In Rome). Mostly because the original podcast had a more broad-perspective; I was approaching it entirely from what I believed the stance of the Church should be. But over the years, as I've gone through a lot of different things and have had a lot of different questions, there are things that I'm just not sure about anymore. Things that, sure, I wish Christians would do, or believe, or talk about... but at the end of the day, there are certain things where I'm no longer certain if they should.
So I guess you could say this is more of a "thinking space." It's a place where I want to throw out there the things that are on my mind. The questions, the struggles, the disappointments, etc. All of it. Not in a perspective of "I think I'm right and I wish everyone would agree with me," but in a "I don't know what to think anymore, and here are my reasons why."
I'm a mess. Spiritually and mentally. And that's probably going to come out in this blog. So be warned.
Now, all of that said, there is something from the old Christians In Rome Podcast that I still feel is pretty accurate and important. And that's the little monologue I wrote for the opening titles of the podcast. I'm going to post the words below, because — while I struggle with what's right or wrong and what Christians should do and shouldn't do — I do believe these words ring true:
...that we are Christians In Rome.
